Project in Action: 2007

• It was held press conference by the Azerbaijan Public Union of Volunteers regarding communication related to the ways of transmission of HIV/AIDS virus and presentation of the 2 social advertising films addressed against stigma related to infection with this virus in the Large Conference Hall of International Press Center.

• 2 social advertising films regarding communication related to the ways of transmission of HIV/AIDS virus and addressed against stigma regarding infection with this virus were transmitted through Lider and Space TV channels by the Azerbaijan Public Union of Volunteers with support of Open Society Institute – Aid Fund.

• It was organized an event under the topic “dissemination of the knowledge regarding peer healthy life mode and protection from risky behavior among University students” by UNICEF and “Madad” Humanitarian Organization Public Union within the project. In the event there was prepared and presented information about the trainings in the topic of healthy life mode and risky behavior for the students of 8 universities.

• There were organized workshop-trainings for the pupils of comprehensive, professional and boarding schools of Baku city by the Republic Children’s Library named after F. Kocharli, “Mustaqil Hayat” (Independent Life) Development and Support Center, “Birliya dogru!” (Toward unity) Public Union for Care to Disabled and Homeless Children and the teachers of Khazar University within the project “Strengthening responses against HIV/AIDS in Azerbaijan”.

• Within the project, the representatives of “Mustagil Hayat” (Independent Life) Development and Support Center organized workshop-trainings under the HIV/AIDS topic in the boarding schools No. 1 and 3 of Khatai district.

• The representatives of “Birliya dogru!” (Toward unity) Public Union for Care to Disabled and Homeless Children held workshop-training in the Republic subsidiary boarding school locating in the address H. Mammadov 35, Shuvalan settlement, Azizbayov district.

• There was held presentation of the monologue show “Way leading to hell” dedicated to fight against drug addiction in the Music theatre named after Behbudov. The pupils of some secondary schools participated in the event.

• Within the project, the Association of Young Film Producers held presentation event of the film “Sun city” in “IBRUS” cinema. In the event, it was demonstrated documented film about the drug-addiction problems for the students of International University and Baku city Lyceum. 100 students participated in the event.
