UNAIDS Playing leading world role in fighting against the epidemy HIV/AIDS, UNAIDS is a key partner of the Fund. Duty of UNAIDS is management, strengthening and support of the extended measures on counteraction of pandemia HIV/AIDS addressed to prevention of HIV transmission, providing care and support to infected and affected people from the disease, reduction of vulnerability of individual persons and community to HIV/AIDS and alleviation of social-economical and human effects of epidemy. The Global Fund supplements work of UNAIDS presenting financial resources for strengthening actions in response to the epidemy. UNAIDS is a main partner of the Fund in the field of providing strategic leadership, scientific information, strategic recommendation and technical practice on the issues of HIV/AIDS. Together with its cosponsors and partners, UNAIDS provides support to countries in their efforts to acquire access to the resources of the Global Fund, particularly, supporting the Country Coordinating Mechanisms, strengthening national potential and role of civil society and expanding participation of community in the actions in fighting against HIV/AIDS. Cooperation between UNAIDS and the Global Fund includes rendering technical support, strategic analysis and strategic recommendation, mobilization of resources, propagating and informative works, as well as conducting monitoring and evaluation. WHO and World Bank WHO and World Bank, besides rendering support in the capacity of cosponsors of UNAIDS, separately help the Global Fund in the following fields: - WHO support the Fund within governmental-private partnership “Win Malaria” and “Stop Tuberculosis”. WHO ensures the work of secretariat of both partners. Mutual relations between these partners and the Fund in the field of fighting against malaria and tuberculosis were established under such principles that the same with the mutual relations UNAIDS and the Global Fund on the issues of HIV/AIDS. WHO is a member of the Global Fund without right to vote as well. - World Bank is an Attorney of the Global Fund. Duties of the Attorney include management of funds received from donors, and assignation of confirmed grants of the Principle Recipient under the instructions of the Global Fund. Besides, World Bank is a member of the Global Fund without right to vote. |
